Are you ready to browse a SSAS 2005/2008 cube? Now it is as simple as never was before.
Step I. First of all, download and install Quick Cube Filtrator Excel Addin. Then run Excel.
Step II. Define a pivot table connected to a SSAS cube. Here exists two alternatives:
1. Define a new SSAS connection. In this step Excel will insert in the active sheet a new pivot table connected as you specified.
2. Insert a new pivot table on the active sheet using an already defined SSAS connection. So go to Insert/PivotTable and choose an existing connection to a SSAS cube.
Step III. On the Excel Addins tab click the "Quick Cube Filtrator" button to launch the cube filtering wizard.
Step IV. Here can choose between two filtering modes: Dimension hierarchy and Dimension attribute. After selecting the desired attribute or hierarchy click on "Next" button and choose your filter values. Here there is "search as you type" functionality. Clicking on “Next” button will navigate to the next level of hierarchy where applicable.
Step V. On every moment of the filter definition process, every filter element defined can be removed using the contextual menu of the graphical filter representation on the right.
